::: Shop update :::

You can check all the new items right here :)

Crafting has been therapeutical for a long time now. I love the process of thinking something up as I go along and watching it take form before my own eyes. It's such an organic process. Especially because they are all handsewn. It can be frustrating sometimes, but right now it's purely calming and exciting. Oh, and none of these items had any formal measuring involved bacause I love the look of a wonky, imperfect but full of love piece of craft. My "art" is as imperfect as I am.

*daydreaming of mushrooms*

When I was a child and was at my grandparents I'd sometimes grab a basket and go colect mushrooms. I wouldn't eat them because I had no clue which ones were in fact edible. But at the end of each mushroom "hunt" I would lay them all in a table and observe their shapes, colors and sizes. Mushrooms are so lovely. Sometimes I would look at beautiful drawings of mushrooms on a book my dad had on nature. One day I hope to learn more about them :)

Spring all over

There's a fig tree on my way to work. It hasn't started to release its perfume just yet. When it does, it will brighten my days with sweet memories.
I think Spring is all about expectation... and wonder... and hope.
May you embrace this new season with renewed hope and expectation.

It's been 210 days (more or less) since this grand adventure began.

Much to be learned still, but that's the beauty of it.

love how the light comes splashing throught the windows in the morning. like an old friend.

[Thursday night]

A sweet way to end the day...

A week ago my grandparents came to visit and have tea. Grandma and I talked a lot about flowers and plants. I love how she describes her gardening adventures with an almost child-like delight. I've learned a bit from her. Grandpa looked outside, through the window and commented with T "This must look like NY when night falls", because of all the lights... but no, I don't think it looks like NY at all.

M - Isso!

from today...

I was sitting on a bench on a break between classes and there was a flock of sheep and goats right in front of me, around me. They seemed totally oblivious to the fact that there was a hideous salmon-colored building behind them. They simply munched away and sometimes stared for a long time at who knows what (sometimes at me). So strange to find them there in the middle of the city, with no sheperd in sight. I couldn't quiet concentrate on my book, it was so lovely just to watch them :)
I'd love to have a flock of sheep one day...

A mim, a peça arrepia-me.

Pay it forward ::: Favores em cadeia

It's being done around the blog world and I'm in via Sara na Lua. The idea is that you get a little surprise present from one person and get to do the same for three others. So the first three comments of people who are willing to do the same will get a handmade gift from me. You'll have to leave a link to a post on your blog or elsewhere stating you will pay it forward. Enjoy!

Yesterday I planted in a little tin some mint that Sis brought from her frontyard. {from your frontyard to my windowsill! Thanks!}

The strawberry plant from grandpa is looking so pretty! This morning the sun was hitting it just so and it was perfect. I do hope we get to pick at least one or two strawberries this summer :)

I love this variety of cactus, but don't know its name yet... Any help?

sometimes you must change the set a bit

There is no occasion when meals should become totally unimportant. Meals can be very small indeed, very inexpensive, short times taken in the midst of a big push of work, but they should always be more than just food. Relaxation, communication, and a measure of beauty and pleasure should be part of even the shortest of meal breaks.

wrist-warmers by mom

I was in love with these, by Toast and I challenged my mom to make me some... Christmas has gone by, but it was so lovely to receive these. I actually saw mom finishing them up and learned how to make them. I guess I'll try next winter and give them as gifts. They're so lovely, cozy and warm :)
Obrigada, mãezuca!!! Mãozinhas de ouro... ;)
And now I must continue getting ready for tomorrow... although I really don't feel like packing or cleaning... But I'm looking forward to a few days of being with hon and dear friends in a beautiful, peaceful place.
